SERVINGS
6 rolls

Ingredients

  • 6 medium (about 8-inch) flour tortillas
  • 2½ cups cooked chicken, shredded or chopped
  • 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning
  • ¼ tsp salt, or to taste
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 3 tbsp butter, melted
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley, plus more for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the chicken, mozzarella, cream cheese, Parmesan, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper.
  3. Divide the filling evenly among the tortillas. Place the filling near the center of each tortilla, fold in the sides and roll tightly. Place seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Combine the melted butter, minced garlic and parsley. Brush the mixture generously over the tops of the rolls.
  5. Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until the tortillas are crisp and golden and the filling is hot. For extra browning, broil for about 1 minute at the end, watching carefully.
  6. Let the rolls rest for 3–5 minutes before serving. Garnish with additional parsley and Parmesan if desired.

Make It Gluten-Free: Substitute your favorite gluten-free flour tortillas. Check the labels on your shredded cheese and seasonings to make sure they don’t contain gluten or cross-contact warnings that matter for your needs.

Make It Your Own

One of the best things about these chicken rolls is how easy they are to change up. Start with the cheesy garlic version, then try one of these simple variations.

Buffalo Chicken
Add about ⅓ cup buffalo sauce to the chicken filling. Skip the Italian seasoning and serve with ranch or blue cheese dressing.

Bacon Ranch
Add crumbled cooked bacon and a little ranch seasoning to the filling for an easy bacon-ranch version.

Jalapeño Chicken
Add chopped pickled jalapeños and swap some or all of the mozzarella for pepper jack cheese.

Tips for the Best Chicken Rolls

  • Don’t overfill the tortillas. They’ll be much easier to roll and less likely to burst while baking.
  • Use softened cream cheese. It mixes into the chicken much more evenly.
  • Place them seam-side down. This helps keep the rolls closed while they bake.
  • Want them extra crispy? Broil them for about a minute at the end, but keep a close eye on them.
  • Let them rest before cutting. Give them 3–5 minutes so the filling stays inside instead of spilling out immediately.

What to Serve with Chicken Rolls

Serve them with marinara, ranch or your favorite dipping sauce. For dinner, pair them with a simple salad, roasted vegetables or seasoned potatoes.
