Instructions
-
Prepare the Filling
Preheat the oven to 375°F. In a medium bowl, combine the chicken, cream cheese, mozzarella, Parmesan, minced garlic, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir until everything is evenly combined.
-
Prepare the Rolls
Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into individual triangles. Place the dough on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
-
Fill and Roll
Spoon the chicken mixture onto the wide end of each piece of dough. Roll the dough toward the pointed end, gently enclosing the chicken filling. Place each roll seam-side down on the baking sheet.
-
Make the Garlic Butter
Combine the melted butter, minced garlic, and Italian seasoning in a small bowl. Brush the mixture over the tops of the rolls and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
-
Bake
Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the rolls are puffed and golden brown and the filling is hot.
-
Serve
Allow the chicken rolls to cool for a few minutes before serving. Serve warm on their own or with your favorite dipping sauce.
Note
Use leftover chicken: Rotisserie chicken or leftover baked chicken makes these especially quick to prepare.
Don't overfill the rolls: Too much filling can make the crescent dough difficult to seal and may cause the filling to spill out while baking.
Change up the cheese: Mozzarella gives you a mild, melty filling, but Monterey Jack, cheddar, or an Italian cheese blend can also work.
Add some heat: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the chicken filling for a little extra kick.
Serving idea: Pair the rolls with a simple green salad, roasted vegetables, or marinara for dipping to turn them into a complete meal.
Make It Gluten-Free
Use a gluten-free refrigerated dough or homemade gluten-free crescent-style dough in place of traditional crescent rolls. Check the cream cheese, shredded cheeses, and seasonings for gluten-containing additives if needed.
